Over the years, we have collected some really fine antiques – some made from very rare and ornamental wood such as bird’s eye maple, burled walnut, rosewood, and mahogany. Tony has brought out the true character of these fine pieces and we display them with pride and will one day hand them down to our 3 sons.

The real heirloom challenge came when we inherited grandmother’s baby grand Chickering player piano.  Its original black satin lacquer finish had worn and pitted from the years it spent by a sunny window.  This was a big job for Tony and a very emotional decision for us. It was crucial that the right depth of finish and proper patina be planned just right. To assure us, Tony used the music stand to strip as he would the whole piano and thereby apply his various formulas of stain and finish in order to capture our vision.  We wanted a glossier, darker finish than we’d chosen for our other pieces. And it was imperative that Tony keep the original “Chickering” inscription. Tony understands full well the value of such demands for heirloom pieces. After three consultations where Tony reworked the formula, he’d found the perfect combination that clearly met with all our expectations for this special piece.
